Are you looking for an unique holiday destination? I spent a week in France, a part called Bretagne, in a small house in a village called Guidel right on the coast. I bet you never heard about it, so continue reading.
Guidel
We had rented a tiny beach house at the coast with the sea view. I’m not gonna lie, I loved the coast. The views were amazing. Beautiful sunsets, a few sandy beaches but also a lot of rocks and cliffs. You could enjoy a nice swim there but also a beautiful walk. If you look good there are also a lot of sea animals, I loved the sea stars. In the village we visited a market, it was really lovely. They were selling food, vegetables and fruits but also a lot of crafts and decorations or clothes and accessories. People were literally on the street in front of the bakery selling baguettes and croissants.
Note: Only French language needed.
Tip: If you’re looking for a calmer destination at the sea this is a great place.

Abbatial site of Saint-Maurice
It is a complex of a few buildings that were a part of the monastery. It’s a historical sight where you get explained about the life of monks. You can walk there as long as you want, they also have the tour in different languages. It’s worth to take a walk in nature as well.
Tip: Riding through this part of France you have to try the original crepes.

Alignements de Carnac
This is a place where there were a few kilometers of rocks put next to each other. They had a lot of souvenirs, a movie describing what happened and a ton of tourists. This is an archeological site so jokes apart. It is like a little brother of Stone Hange. To tell you the truth, I was not interested at all. But to be fair you should take a look and make your own opinion.

Quiberon
I liked this village. It had some nice streets, souvenir shops, it was really alive. There were also some nice beaches and rocks to climb. On the top of everything there was a very lovely castle right above the sea. The way there is also magical with all the views of the sea.
Note: Parking in some of these places is crazy expensive.

Vannes
This city is magical. I personally liked it a lot. A lot of historical streets, Prison gate, Remparts Garden, Saint-Pierre cathedral and beautiful buildings. This one is 100% worth visiting. I’m not gonna say more, it’s better when you see it.

Port-Louis
Another small village on the coast. There is a port, few beaches and the main thing of this village is Citadelle Port Louis with a museum.

Nantes
On my way home I visited Nantes, but only for a few hours, cause I was changing the bus there. I saw a small bit of the city, but I liked it and I would like to pay a visit again. There was some kind of protest in the center for saving dolphins, I’m all for saving the world and animals. They also have a beautiful shopping mall.

Bordeaux
In Bordeaux I spent 2 days. Not my favorite. It has nice streets and a beautiful bridge, also some buildings but it wasn’t so special to me. Also the water in the river was all brown, I don’t know the reason but it was special. I once had McDonald’s but it was expensive and not good at all, it was dry and just seemed and tasted old. No hard feelings tho, the center was lovely and there was a beautiful carousel.

Note: Shortly after we left and still to this date France is suffering from huge forest fires that are getting close to the city of Bordeaux. Wish them the best.
