If you want to go on a trip with your girl friends but you don’t know where, I got you. Whether you are going on a bachelorette trip or just a vacation with friends here’s a list of top destinations for a girls trip.
Spain
Spain is a perfect country for a girls trip. Amazing weather, great food and drinks, stunning beaches and culture and most importantly good vibes. It is also a safe place for girls. The locals are very warm and outgoing. Spain is very used to tourism and it’s open to it. There are bars, restaurants, attractions and many different types of accommodation. There are many places you can visit in Spain, all of them wouldn’t even fit here. Here are some of the best ones.
Mallorca
Spain has many islands that are perfect for vacations. Mallorca is the biggest Spanish island. It offers a lot of activities. There are amazing beaches with crystal clear seas. You can find there many beach resorts, restaurants and bars and water activities. Mallorca also has a rich nightlife with many clubs.
You can visit many beautiful cities like the capital Palma, Alcudia or Valldemossa. Many of the cities are historical with magical streets and unique architecture.
It’s a summer vacation like from a movie.
Ibiza
The most famous party island. Ibiza offers many clubs and bars, many of them even famous. There are world known DJs and musicians performing in some of these clubs. You can find day or night clubs there. Worth mentioning are Amnesia, Pacha, Ushuaia or Ibiza Rocks.
Besides partying you can also relax on beautiful sandy beaches, go for a swim or do other water activities. You can also go hiking or explore cities. You shouldn’t miss Ibiza, Sant Antoni de Portmany or Cala Comte.
Barcelona
Barcelona is another great place to party, but also explore and relax. The famous clubs worth mentioning are Opium, Pacha or Moog. It’s a great city for nightlife and socialising.
Barcelona is also a very artsy city with some breathtaking architecture. You can’t miss Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Casa Mila or Casa Batllo. It also offers nice beaches.
Be careful tho, there are many pickpockets in Barcelona.
Other places worth visiting in Spain are Madrid, Málaga, Sevilla, Valencia or Donostia-San Sebastián.
Greece
Another great and safe country to visit is Greece. It offers thousands of islands, some more magical than others. If you want to live the Mamma Mia movie, go to Greece.
Santorini
Santorini is a very popular and famous Greek destination. The beautiful scenery is great for taking photos and living the luxurious Greek dream. The white and blue in the little houses is a very aesthetic background for your instagram pictures. There are many high rated hotels and Airbnbs. You can find many good restaurants and bars, relax on the beach or explore archeological sites.
The downside of Santorini is that it is a bit overpriced and overcrowded in the high season.
Mykonos
This island might be a better option compared to Santorini. Mykonos offers the same authentical Greek experience. You can relax on a sandy beach by turquoise water, see the typical windmills and white and blue houses and enjoy the Greek cuisine. You have to visit Little Venice with its stunning views. You can go for a boat ride or join a pub crawl, the choice is yours.
Athens
A city full of archeological sites, where you will feel like a Greek goddess. It’s a beautiful city to explore. You can’t miss Acropolis and the Partheon, these are the most famous sites. You should also visit Plaka district where you can spend time exploring many souvenir shops or have a taste of Greek cuisine in one of many restaurants. You shouldn’t miss the Central Market either. Athens is not poor in nightlife either, you can find many pubs and clubs in certain parts of the city.
Crete
Crete is the biggest island of Greece. The cities you should visit are Chania, Heraklion and Rhetymno. There are plenty of historical sites in Crete. It’s also rich in nightlife. The Greek culture is very visible in the cities with lovely architecture, delicious food and very friendly and open people. The sea is clear and the beaches are sandy, making it a perfect place to relax. It’s also a very safe place for girl trips.
Italy
Another great country for a girls trip is Italy. Once again it offers many beautiful places, it makes it difficult to pick. Here’s my top 3.
Milan
The city of fashion, Milan is a great destination for a girls trip. If you just want to eat amazing Italian food, take a lot of pictures of the stunning Italian architecture and shop for high fashion or new fashion trends, Milan is a great place for you. You can’t miss the Duomo di Milano or the shopping center Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. If you are lucky, you can even attend the Fashion Week.
In general Milan is quite an expensive destination and you have to prepare a bigger budget.
Sicily
If you want a beach, island holiday in Italy, visit Sicily. Sicily is famous for its wine, art and mafia stories. It offers beautiful crystal clear sea, landscape, historical sites and of course the famous Italian cuisine. A must see is the Valley of Temples or Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Sicily is a dreamy destination, great for relaxation and good food.
Florence
Florence is a stunning city full of breathtaking architecture and art. It’s also my personal favorite. Walking the streets of Florence is a real Italian experience. You can find many many wineries and restaurants in historical buildings. You can enjoy a real Italian pizza in a unique and authentic setting. You can’t miss Ponte Vecchio, a really interesting and special bridge with its hanging houses and souvenir shops. It’s one of the symbols of the city, another one is the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. If you are an art lover, you can’t miss the Uffizi Gallery with the work of Botticelli and Galleria dell’Accademia with Michelangelo’s famous statue of David.
Other good options to visit in Italy are Rome, Lake Como, Positano, Amalfi or Capri.
Amsterdam
A very well known city for parties in Europe is Amsterdam. Many people go there to enjoy their bachelor parties. It’s more famous between men as the Red Light District and legal Marijuana are often the main interests. It doesn’t mean that it’s not a good place for girls. Amsterdam offers aesthetic canals, architecture and flowers. You can visit many clubs and bars if you are interested to party. Besides partying there are many interesting activities you can do, whether it’s unique museums or galleries, making your own chocolate, visiting the flower markets or going for a bike ride in the flower fields. Amsterdam has it all.
It’s often really overcrowded and quite pricey. The city is working on some regulations, research it before you go.
Budapest
An amazing option and my personal favorite is Budapest. If you want to relax and party at the same time, Budapest is a perfect place for it. You can find many baths here, the most famous one is Szechenyi. It’s one of the biggest and best baths in Europe. On Saturdays you can even join a party in the spa. That’s a unique experience. Budapest is also rich in nightlife. There are many pubs and clubs. You can join a pub crawl or visit famous places like Szimplakert or Akvarium club. Sziget, one of the famous festivals of Europe, happens every summer in Budapest.
Budapest also offers stunning fairytale-like architecture. You can enjoy a cruise on the river, visit museums or galleries and have a taste of Hungarian cuisine.
Madeira
Madeira is definitely Portugal’s best kept treasure. It’s a beautiful island with a tropical vibe, stunning nature and the sea. It’s a perfect place for hikes, so if you are adventurous this is a place for you. While visiting Madeira you have to visit Cascata dos Anjos, this is a beautiful waterfall. You can find there natural swimming pools or beautiful golden beaches. It’s a paradise and a great destination if you like adventure.
Prague
The capital of the Czech Republic and a place with many unique pubs. Prague also offers a great nightlife. You can join a pub crawl or join a party in one of the many clubs. You have to try Czech beer, they are very proud of it. Prague also offers many historical buildings with beautiful architecture. You can go for a walk in the little streets of the old town and can’t miss the Charles Bridge. Prague also offers some unique places to visit like the Lennon wall, dancing house or the narrowest street.
Hvar
Island of Hvar is a great location for a summer holiday. It has beautiful beaches, crystal clear water perfect for spending the day at the sea. It’s a great location for boat trips. There are many boat rentals, meaning you can spend your day on the sea, swimming, partying and having fun. You can also go diving, go for a walk in the harbour, discover historical sites or visit the vineyards and lavender fields. If you are looking for nightlife, go to the capital Hvar, also called the city that never sleeps. There are many venues, restaurants and bars, the choice is yours.
Algarve
This part of Portugal is the best for relaxing by the sea. There are beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea, stunning views and many resorts and beach bars. You can spend your day on the beach, do water activities or explore many cities that are in this region. Albufeira has the best nightlife, you can find clubs and bars there. If you like surfing or you would like to learn it, this is the best place for it. Algarve is a great option for summer beach holiday.
Kotor
Kotor is a historical city lying between the mountains in Montenegro. The old town has a magical atmosphere. Many historical buildings, souvenir shops, restaurants, a small market and so many cats. The cats are mostly friendly, there is a feeding station and a place for them but they are all over the city. There is a harbour in this city and you can go for many boat excursions or rides. What’s better than spending a day with your friends on the sea?
Edinburgh
The historical city of Edinburgh is like a cut out of the Harry Potter movie. If you are a fan you can visit the Harry Potter shop. Walking the streets of this city is truly fairytale-like. Castle, palace or a cathedral, all of the architecture in Edinburgh is stunning and it’s gonna make you feel like in a movie. Besides that you can visit some of the Scottish pubs and try their famous whiskey. You can also go for a day trip to Loch Ness or see the nature of Scotland.
Monaco
What screams luxury more than Monaco? If you wanna feel like a princess or blend in the lives of the rich, visit Monaco. If you don’t mind a bit gambling, Monaco is very well known for its casinos, especially Casino de Monte Carlo. You can go for a walk by the sea, visit the harbour, the palace or the gardens.
Nice
Nice offers numerous luxury hotels with stunning views. It’s a high standard place similar to Monaco. There are amazing beaches with a famous promenade des Anglais, historical old town and magical little streets. You can go diving or snorkeling or spend the day on the sea by renting a boat. For nightlife you can visit some of the clubs or beach bars.
Tromsø
For a more cold nordic trip you should visit Tromsø. It’s a perfect place for watching the northern lights. It’s also a great place if you prefer an active lifestyle. You can go hiking, visit the Polar Museum or watch the whales. You can find amazing accommodation there too. If you are looking for something basic or luxurious. There are places where you can sleep right under the polar lights, what could be more magical.
Tips for girls:
- Always check the reviews of your accommodation. Try to avoid places that have no reviews.
- Some places might be less safe for girls. Mostly it’s bigger crowded cities like Amsterdam, Athens or Milan. Stay in groups or keep yourselves updated.
- Take care of your belongings. In cities like Barcelona there are many pickpockets. They can easily snatch your purse or your phone out of your hands.
- If you are drinking, always keep an eye on your glass. Take care to not drink too much, especially if you are alone or in a small group.
- Know your surroundings. It’s always good to know what your surroundings are and what the address of your hotel is. In a case you lose your phone or separate from your group you can get to your hotel safely.
